About The Position

Restaurant Associates is hiring full-time and part-time Dishwashers at the University of Chicago location, 450 North Cityfront Plaza Drive, Chicago, Illinois. The role maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. The schedule is Monday through Saturday, with hours that may vary; further details are provided during the interview. The pay range is $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. Previous dishwashing experience is preferred, and training is available. Associates are expected to follow company policies and safety procedures, including appropriate protective gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques. Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or load them into a dishwashing machine, depending on assigned equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, trays, and other kitchen items.
Polish silver using the assigned equipment and procedures.
Follow safety procedures and maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
Sweep and mop kitchen floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food-preparation surfaces.
Remove trash to designated containers and steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
Help load and unload supplies and product.
Perform other duties as assigned.
