About The Position

The Dishwasher operates the dishwashing machine and maintains nutrition services storage areas in an orderly condition. The role supports other kitchen areas and maintains the dish room and equipment in accordance with dining services department procedures. Responsibilities include cleaning and storing food-service carts, dishes, utensils, trays, pots, and pans; maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in food-service and work areas; and delivering water pitchers and food requests as needed. The Dishwasher also transports carts, keeps kitchen work areas and dining rooms clear of dirty dishes, and assists with resident transportation during fire, disaster, or emergency evacuation according to procedure.

Requirements

• Previous relevant experience, required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, with residents, family members, and staff, required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clean water pitchers to nursing stations.
• Maintain stock areas in a neat and orderly fashion daily.
• Transport carts to and from appropriate dining areas.
• Operate the dishwashing machine.
• Monitor and record water temperatures and cleaning compound usage.
• Perform cleaning assignments as directed.
• Clean and wash food-service carts, dishes, utensils, trays, pots, and pans, and store them.
• Use proper sanitation in all food and service areas.
• Maintain cleanliness in all work areas, equipment, and appliances.
• Deliver food requests to stations as needed.
• Keep kitchen work areas and dining rooms clear of dirty dishes.
• Sweep and mop floors and work areas.
• Assist in transporting residents in case of fire, disaster, or emergency evacuation according to procedure.
