About The Position

This position performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, and serving duties in the commercial food service area of the Nullagvik Hotel. The role supports the hotel restaurant by keeping dishes, equipment, and food service areas clean and organized, preparing food products safely, and assisting with stocking and other food service needs. Other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success may also be assigned.

Requirements

Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Some prior experience or training demonstrating knowledge of cleaning equipment or processes, or suitability for and interest in this type of work.

Responsibilities

Wash food service area objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
Clean dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, and place them in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
Clean, sweep, mop, and wipe down general food service areas and equipment.
Remove garbage from assigned areas and set up or break down tables.
Assist cooks or other staff as needed and coordinate activities with other food service activities and requirements.
Prepare food products properly, safely, and efficiently while following standard food-handling procedures.
Assist with periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
Maintain products at required levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas, including service machines, as needed.
Stock storage areas with various products, as needed.
Perform other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success.
