About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitized environment for staff and guests. The role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, drinkware, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment, while keeping the dish room and other restaurant areas clean and organized. Dishwashers may also assist line cooks and other kitchen staff, particularly during peak periods.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Excellent customer service skills and etiquette.
Must have a current Food Handler’s Card where applicable.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Ability to learn about building chemicals and use them properly.
Ability to work around a range of temperatures, including warm to very warm kitchen temperatures.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Operate an industrial dishwasher.
Wash dishes and sanitize utensils, cookware, and cooking equipment.
Sweep and mop floors; clean and maintain equipment; and maintain clean and orderly restaurant areas.
Clean food preparation areas, facilities, and equipment.
Follow sanitation practices and safety procedures.
Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
Empty and clean trash receptacles.
Assist line cooks and other kitchen staff as needed, including with basic food preparation during peak times.
Load or unload trucks delivering or picking up food or supplies.
Perform opening, closing, and side work.
Clean spills or broken glassware immediately.
