About The Position

The Dishwasher maintains sanitary kitchen operations by monitoring and recording water temperature and sanitizer solution levels, notifying management of any issues, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and work areas. The role sets up, breaks down, cleans, and checks the operation of the dishwashing machine. It also maintains an organized, stocked, and labeled cleaning-supply storage room. The dishwasher may occasionally assist with food preparation and other kitchen duties, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with kitchen organization.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to occasionally assist with other kitchen duties.
• Completion of a background check; screening may include a drug screen, physical, TB test, and fingerprinting, according to state and local guidelines.
• CPR and first aid certification may be required in certain state or local jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record water temperature and sanitizer solution levels, and notify management if they are incorrect.
• Occasionally assist with food preparation and other kitchen duties.
• Understand and observe sanitary guidelines and environmental requirements.
• Set up and break down the dishwashing machine as necessary, including its arms, screens, traps, and baskets.
• Clean the inside and outside of the dishwashing machine and check that it is operating properly.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, the ware-washing system, garbage cans, and kitchen areas.
• Maintain the cleaning-supply storage room by keeping it clean and supplies stocked, labeled, and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
