About The Position

The Dish Room Attendant, also described as the pot washer, maintains the cleanliness of pots, pans, and kitchen utensils and follows HACCP and other regulatory agency policies. The position works full time from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

The role maintains an adequate supply of clean, grease-free cookware and utensils, ensures wash and sanitizing water temperatures meet applicable standards, and communicates potential problems to the production supervisor. It also involves following safe work practices, keeping the work area clean and sanitized, and promptly setting up catered events as requested. Services must be provided promptly, courteously, and professionally.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to communicate effectively in English. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, reaching, lifting, speaking, and hearing. Non-clinical staff may lift up to 50 pounds; heavier loads require an assisted-lift device or help from another person.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and respond in English to questions from all hospital publics.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak, and hear.
• For non-clinical staff, lifting is limited to 50 pounds; use an assisted-lift device or obtain assistance for heavier lifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an adequate supply of clean, grease-free pots, pans, and other items as assigned.
• Ensure water temperatures for washing and sanitizing pots, pans, and dishes meet HACCP and regulatory agency standards.
• Communicate potential problems to the production supervisor when necessary.
• Follow safe work practices and keep the work area clean, sanitized, and free of debris.
• Promptly set up catered events as requested on special event sheets.
• Provide services promptly, courteously, and professionally.
