About The Position

The Aztec Nutrition Center is seeking a Part-Time Dish Room Attendant to maintain the cleanliness of dishes, pots, pans, and the general dish room area. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team under moderate conditions. The employee will be responsible for retrieving, washing, and sanitizing all items in a timely manner, learning and operating a high-temperature dishwashing machine, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the dish room. Adherence to company sanitation procedures, safety guidelines, and compliance with all company policies and relevant laws and regulations are essential. This position requires on-site presence and is not eligible for remote work. Candidates must be available for a flexible schedule, including opening, mid-day, closing, night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work as part of a team with co-workers and kitchen staff/management.
Ability to learn and operate dish machine.
Ability to work alone.
Must be able to read, write and understand English.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines and objectives.
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instruction.
Ability to use a variety of equipment and utensils.
Must have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.
Frequently required to stand, walk/move, reach, bend, stoop, wipe, and move throughout the dish room for up to 8 hours.
Must be able to handle objects, utensils, tools and controls.
Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Food Handler’s certificate from the County of San Diego is preferred.

Responsibilities

Retrieve all dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other items from kitchen and other areas and ensure all are washed and sanitized in a timely manner throughout the shift.
Learn and operate all aspects of a high temperature dish washing machine.
Clean/sanitize, empty trash, sweep, and maintain cleanliness of dish room/area.
Adhere to company sanitation procedures.
Observe all safety and company rules and guidelines.
Comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.
Other duties as assigned.
