About The Position

A construction loan administrator is responsible for reviewing construction loan documents in accordance with credit policy requirements for risk management, with responsibility for protecting the Bank’s interest through proper documentation, ensuring all approved terms and conditions are properly implemented throughout the administration of the construction loan and the accompanying draws. This role involves monitoring and collecting required due diligence items, coordinating document and funding requests, and checking for accuracy. The administrator will act as the primary liaison with customers, inspectors, and title company representatives, working in partnership with Relationship Managers (RMs) and credit analysts from loan closing through all phases of construction until the loan matures or is paid off. Key duties include reviewing and analyzing land surveys, environmental assessments, project reviews, and building inspection reports to ensure construction draws are funded according to guidelines, maintaining loan and disbursement files with sufficient documentation for reviews and audits, and analyzing proposed construction budgets to identify all appropriate project-related costs and sources of funds. The role also involves analyzing and reconciling construction draw requests, recommending approval of funding draws, obtaining required approvals, and preparing monthly construction draws. Daily interaction with loan customers via telephone, email, and in person is expected. All employees are responsible for internal controls, demonstrating compliance with bank regulations, and staying updated on regulation changes. They must follow all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete required training. A working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations is necessary. The role may involve coaching, mentoring, or training others as a subject matter expert. Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in commercial real estate, construction loan administration, or a related field, including project management/management experience (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge of title, escrow, survey, and loan documentation preparation
  • Advanced knowledge of all operational systems, procedures, construction guidelines, and/or services supported by the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Services Department
  • Extensive knowledge of construction industry and construction lending, including multi-phased construction and multiple collateral properties
  • Organizational and project management skills
  • Strong computer skills, including using Precision, AccuDraw (or similar construction draw monitoring software), PowerPoint, Excel, and creating links and fillable PDF documents
  • Strong technical expertise in construction draw administration functions
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate finance procedures, documentation, accounting, processes, procedures, and data systems
  • Well-developed customer relations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and maintain a high level of organization
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and loan accounting systems

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities.
  • Keeping up to date on regulation changes.
  • Following all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completing all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • Coaching, mentoring, or training others and teaching coursework as subject matter expert.
