About The Position

D&S Automotive is hiring a Disassembly/Reassembly Technician to support collision repair work. The technician helps Repair Planners identify concealed vehicle damage through thorough disassembly, assists with preparing complete repair estimates, and reassembles vehicles after repairs so they can be delivered. The role is suited to someone driven to learn and interested in advancing within the company. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday during the 7:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. time frame. The technician reports to the Collision Center Manager. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience. D&S Automotive is locally owned and headquartered in Mentor, Ohio, with five locations in Northeast Ohio. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Tools to disassemble and reassemble vehicles.
Understanding of automobiles.
At least one year of automotive shop experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass a background check.
Great attention to detail.
Effective communication skills.
Willingness to learn.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

Pre-scan vehicles.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical/hydraulic window operating equipment, body panels, trim, and other parts as needed.
Micro-bag hardware and small parts.
Build and organize parts carts according to company standards.
Take photos of complex wire routing, component assembly, and trim or emblem locations.
Reassemble vehicles after repairs are completed.
Perform light body repairs as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Assist the Repair Planner in writing a complete repair estimate.
