About The Position

LKQ Corporation is seeking a motivated Disassembly employee to complete quality disassembly processes according to Tri Star standards. The position is based in a manufacturing environment, primarily in the warehouse and disassembly area, and involves following instructions and procedures, identifying component orientation, maintaining tools and equipment, and reporting problems or defective components. The role requires working safely in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a “Tour Ready” work area. The job involves standing on cement floors for more than eight hours, handling engine components, and working in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles. Employees may encounter noise, oil, dust, cleaning chemicals, hazardous equipment, extreme temperatures, and high noise levels, and may regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

Technical knowledge and ability to read instructions, specifications, and drawings.
Ability to use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of quality control procedures.
Good verbal communication skills.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
Ability to stand on cement floors for more than eight hours.
Ability to lift and install engine components weighing 40 pounds repetitively and 80 pounds occasionally; the physical demands section also specifies lifting up to 100 pounds.
Ability to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles, including in awkward positions.

Responsibilities

Safely and effectively complete quality disassembly processes according to Tri Star standards.
Read and follow instructions and established procedures.
Collect the tools needed to complete each procedure.
Recognize the correct orientation of complex components.
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
Report issues, malfunctions, or defective components.
