The Director of the MCA Transplant Outreach Program develops and maintains community-based infrastructure and partnerships that provide culturally competent transplant awareness and identify clinical factors that may merit transplant evaluation. The Director facilitates the referral process for external referring physicians and advises MCA's Transplant Center and MCA leaders on strategies, participating in implementation as directed. The role focuses on community education about end-stage renal, liver, and heart disease; increasing external referrals to the Transplant Center through local outreach to physicians' offices, dialysis centers, and other healthcare providers; and expanding access to MCA patient care services. The Director develops, submits, and supports collaborative projects addressing patient, nurse, and physician education about the transplant process. The position also designs, develops, and implements a strategic outreach plan for each organ program and reports metrics monthly to the Transplant Center Director and the Operations Administrator of the Transplant Center. Across either outreach role described in the posting, the Director maintains an inventory of internal resources and uses professional relationships with clinical and administrative leaders, as well as experience securing extramural support and relationships with local, state, and federal agency representatives, to strengthen community infrastructure and coordinate compatible efforts. The Director must understand lifespan growth and development and demonstrate competence in understanding and respecting cultural differences. The position requires living within 100 miles of campus or being willing to relocate.
