About The Position

Claratel Behavioral Health is a Community Service Board (CSB) dedicated to providing high-quality behavioral health services, including mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) supports, to the citizens of DeKalb County and the metro-Atlanta area. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director to oversee and manage our Clinical Supported Housing Programs. This role is crucial in ensuring clinical excellence, program fidelity, and compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, specifically within the context of community-based supported housing for individuals with serious mental illness (SMI).

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Psychiatric Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current, active, and unrestricted Georgia associate professional licensure (e.g., LMSW, APC, LAMFT).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of post-licensure clinical experience in a behavioral health setting, with at least two (2) years of clinical and administrative leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in community-based behavioral health service delivery, supported housing models (e.g., Permanent Supportive Housing, housing treatment), recovery-oriented services, and comprehensive knowledge of DBHDD regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, managerial, and organizational skills.
  • Strong clinical and assessment skills, particularly with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex clinical and regulatory information clearly.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) and data management systems.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations, prioritize multiple demands, and make sound, clinical/ethical decisions.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and successful completion of a criminal history background check is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current, active, and unrestricted Georgia independent professional licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
  • Experience working within the Georgia Community Service Board (CSB) system.
  • Certification or training in specific EBPs (e.g., ACT, IPS Supported Employment, CBT).
  • Experience managing programs with diverse funding streams (e.g., Medicaid, HUD, state grants).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical and administrative supervision to program managers, licensed staff, and other clinical personnel within the supported housing continuum.
  • Establish and monitor clinical protocols, quality assurance standards, and safety procedures across all housing sites.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all regulations set forth by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Medicaid (Georgia Medical Assistance Program), and other relevant governing bodies.
  • Oversee program audits and develop and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal standards related to housing stability, Fair Housing laws, and resident rights.
  • Identify staff training needs and develop and deliver continuous professional development in areas such as trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, psychiatric rehabilitation, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, recovery, and inclusion.
  • Collaborate closely with internal agency departments (e.g., outpatient clinics, community-based services) and external community partners (e.g., housing authorities, landlords, hospitals) to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), clinical outcomes, and program efficiency to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and management of the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and fiscal stability.
