About The Position

The Director Sales is responsible for the sales, management and production of special events, advertisements, and maintaining the budgets. In addition, the Director Sales will execute special event contracts and letter agreements, and plan and successfully execute special events.

Requirements

  • Computer savvy and proficient in MS Office Professional Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Self‑motivated with a professional and calm demeanor
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive sales experience with the ability to create and foster strong client relationships
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Management experience
  • Strong organization, project management, and decision‑making skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous experience in event planning and execution, with the ability to manage and delegate tasks
  • BA/BS degree (4‑year) required
  • 6–8 years of related work experience

  • Advanced degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Prior experience working in music venues preferred

Responsibilities

  • Network, research, and cold call potential clients to create new business opportunities.
  • Enter client information into CRM system and manage client relationships.
  • Create event proposals and budgets.
  • Collect event deposits and contract signatures once events are confirmed.
  • Advance event details for confirmed events and serve as the primary contact for event‑related issues.
  • Ensure all steps are taken to guarantee successful event execution.
  • Collect vendor quotes and finalized contracts.
  • Be onsite during event days to manage execution and supervise vendors and staff.
  • Train and manage special event staff, including vendor partners for catering, bar service, security, and other applicable service partners.
  • Ensure special events staff adhere to company policies regarding rentals and event execution.
  • Provide guidance or recommendations on issues that arise during the event process.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure events meet expectations and place holds for future or recurring dates.
  • Respond to date challenges and update the calendar system to reflect new holds or release unneeded holds.
  • Promote upcoming events and venue availability to potential, existing, and past clients.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding availability, pricing, and locations.
  • Negotiate deal terms and pricing.
  • Prepare contracts and letter agreements once proposals are accepted.
  • Initiate creation of invoices and new customer setup.
  • Submit budgets and change orders.
  • Create competitive pricing models to maximize venue revenue.
  • Track sales and develop plans to reach annual goals.
  • Complete monthly forecasts updated to reflect new and existing contracts.
  • Develop strategic collateral materials, online marketing, and other tools to generate activity
