About The Position

The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Job Description Summary: Under general direction, the Director of Research Security Support Services provides system-wide leadership for research security program development, coordination, and operational support. Reporting to senior system research security leadership, the Director serves as a subject-matter expert, advancing a risk-based, mission-aligned approach that supports collaborative research and compliance with federal requirements across all member institutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem solver.
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively with others.
  • This is a security-sensitive position and is restricted to U.S. citizens only.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a strategic compliance partner, supporting the development of effective research security programs and member support services.
  • Develops, enhances, implements, and maintains effective broad-based research security framework.
  • Lead the development, interpretation, and implementation of system-level research security policies, standards, and guidance.
  • Ensure policies and processes remain responsive to evolving federal agency expectations, regulatory changes, and emerging threats.
  • Oversee the delivery of research security support services provided to member institutions, including consultation, issue resolution, and escalation support.
  • Develop communication strategies and resources that translate complex requirements into practical guidance for the research enterprise.
  • Lead and mentor research security professionals and support staff, fostering professional development and collaboration across institutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
