About The Position

CoStar Group is seeking a Director of Product Marketing for its Matterport brand. This role will lead the product marketing function, focusing on how the platform is positioned to target industries, translating audience insights into actionable work for Sales and Demand Generation, and optimizing its impact on the sales funnel. The position is responsible for industry narratives, sales tools, campaign messaging, and lifecycle content. The Director will manage the function as a growth lever, demonstrating the connection between the team's output and pipeline generation. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires managing people and directly owning specific market segments. The role is based in Arlington, Virginia, with an in-office requirement Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college.
  • 10+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience.
  • At least five years leading product marketing teams.
  • Experience building or rebuilding a product marketing function in enterprise technology, SaaS, or proptech.
  • Track record marketing to vertical industries and defined buyer audiences.
  • Direct experience marketing to residential real estate, multi-family, or both.
  • Growth marketing credibility, including ownership or shared accountability for funnel conversion metrics and running disciplined experiments.
  • Experience building go-to-market through a partner, marketplace, or platform ecosystem.
  • Enterprise B2B experience with complex, multi-stakeholder buying cycles and a direct sales force.
  • Practical AI fluency, including using AI in personal work and introducing it to a team.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with credibility among Sales leaders and marketing peers.
  • Comfort with data analysis and decision-making based on numbers.
  • Clear, confident communication with executive audiences.
  • Track record of commitment to prior employers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product marketing charter, defining its purpose, operations, and revenue connection.
  • Set and maintain high standards for quality and pace in product marketing output.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the product marketing team, collaborating with the VP of Marketing on team structure and capabilities.
  • Recruit new team members and elevate the team's overall quality with each hire.
  • Determine how cross-cutting themes like facilities management are addressed across the portfolio.
  • Own positioning, narrative, and go-to-market strategy for residential real estate and multi-family sectors.
  • Manage the joint marketing strategy with Homes.com and Apartments.com.
  • Oversee the end-to-end multi-family go-to-market plan, including audience definition, positioning, and pipeline generation.
  • Drive the residential growth plan, focusing on audience quality and deal value alongside volume.
  • Partner on the marketing motion across CoStar marketplaces: Homes.com, Apartments.com, and LoopNet.
  • Set the commercial real estate marketplace strategy for the product marketer on the team to execute.
  • Align residential, multi-family, and commercial marketing efforts to ensure they reinforce each other.
  • Coordinate go-to-market sequencing across the three brands for cohesive marketplace partnerships.
  • Define Matterport's positioning for priority industries and buyer audiences, creating differentiated viewpoints.
  • Establish buyer research as a core discipline to inform industry narratives.
  • Lead go-to-market planning and execution for product launches, industry plays, and regional campaigns.
  • Develop sales-facing toolkits, including industry narratives, competitive positioning, and customer proof.
  • Take accountability for conversion stages influenced by product marketing, particularly turning engaged buyers into qualified demand.
  • Partner with Demand Generation on testing messaging, offers, and audience targeting.
  • Identify and qualify new industries and segments to expand the targetable market.
  • Foster funnel fluency within the team, enabling product marketers to articulate their work's impact on pipeline.
  • Manage competitive intelligence across the portfolio and translate insights into positioning and product feedback.
  • Collaborate with Demand Generation, Lifecycle Marketing, Creative, and International Marketing on shared goals.
  • Serve as the primary marketing interface to Sales leadership for industry strategy and enablement.
  • Work with International Marketing to adapt positioning and content for different regions.
  • Integrate AI into the team's workflow for tasks like buyer research and content production.
  • Represent Matterport at industry events and conferences.
  • Build relationships with trade associations and industry organizations.
