About The Position

Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud, used by over a million developers for AI experimentation, training, fine-tuning, deployment, and scaling. Having processed over 20 billion inference requests and recently closing a $100M Series A, Runpod is at a pivotal moment in AI infrastructure. The company is seeking a Director, Product Management to spearhead the product vision for its AI cloud platform. This role encompasses the entire product lifecycle for core offerings such as serverless endpoints, GPU instances (Pods), foundational AI services, developer APIs, and the overall user experience. The successful candidate will build and lead a product and design organization focused on understanding the needs of AI researchers, ML engineers, and developers. Collaboration with Infrastructure, Engineering, and GTM leadership is key to ensuring Runpod remains the leading platform for AI workloads in terms of speed, intuitiveness, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing PMs and designers in a hyper-growth environment.
Deep experience in SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or developer-facing products, with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, GPUs, Kubernetes, and AI/ML workflows.
Technical fluency to engage with engineering and infrastructure leaders, understanding modern backend architectures, API design, and distributed systems.
Demonstrated ability to deliver successful products from complex, ambiguous problems.
Experience building culture, alignment, and momentum across distributed technical and commercial teams in a remote-first setting.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for articulating product vision.
Successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

Direct experience launching products for ML Ops, model training, serverless inference, or LLM deployment.
Strong public presence or active engagement with AI/ML and open-source developer communities.
Previous experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or data scientist.

Responsibilities

Define the long-term vision and short-term roadmap for Runpod’s product suite, anticipating the evolving AI/ML ecosystem and positioning Runpod as the premier infrastructure choice.
Act as the voice of the user by engaging with ML engineers, AI startups, and enterprise customers to identify pain points, gather requirements, and validate new features.
Hire, mentor, and grow a team of product managers, UI/UX designers, and technical writers, fostering a culture of high standards, user empathy, and rapid iteration.
Collaborate with the Director of Infrastructure and Director of Engineering to ensure technically feasible, reliable, and timely roadmap delivery, translating complex infrastructure into seamless developer experiences.
Partner with Marketing and Sales to define pricing models for compute, storage, and serverless usage, and guide product marketing on positioning and launch strategies.
Implement a rigorous, metrics-driven approach to product management, using analytics, churn data, and customer feedback for backlog prioritization.
Champion a world-class developer experience across the console, CLI, APIs, and SDKs, ensuring they are intuitive, well-documented, and minimize time-to-value.
