About The Position

The Director of Vendor Management oversees, coordinates, and drives the performance of DAVACO contracted vendors and sub-partners. This role will be responsible for communicating goals, objectives, performance feedback, and open item management to both external vendors and internal lines of business partners. This role will represent the interests of DAVACO as the point of contact for vendors, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery to DAVACO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of vendor management experience.
  • Experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion subcontractor solicitation.
  • Ability to successfully delegate tasks, manage a team, and train others.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding and oversight of construction and renovation.
  • General knowledge of construction including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC.
  • Must be proactive, self-directed, highly motivated, and able to multi-task.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment must be adaptable and flexible.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Stress resilient and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Project or other Project Management software experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Procore and Smartsheet is not required but is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team dedicated to sourcing and managing vendors across the organization, negotiating contracts, and handling relationships with vendors.
  • Facilitate vendor onboarding (offboarding as applicable) and set up in all relevant DAVACO systems and processes to enable the vendor to serve the organization within agreed parameters.
  • Oversee vendor delivery and compliance with DAVACO standards, contracts, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations (state and federal). Ensure assigned vendors deliver agreed-to SLAs, performance metrics, processes, and timelines and drive open issues to resolution.
  • Assist in the identification of the root cause of issue(s) and/or performance trends related to vendors. Assist in remediation and process improvement initiatives and responsible for analysis, development, implementation, and management of associated action plans.
  • Act as liaison with other organizational departments; establish and maintain the working rapport necessary to understand interdepartmental dependencies. Use this information to maintain active communication with vendors to ensure business continuity and message clarity.
  • Provide consistent communication with DAVACO Project Managers, Field Managers, and Operation Leads to ensure visibility and alignment to vendor performance. Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with assigned vendors.
  • Develop and administer policies and procedures to guide vendors and provide the overall direction necessary to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective services. Actively participate in committees and programs for process improvements and strategic initiatives at the business unit level and own specific process improvements and strategic initiatives at the department level.
  • Manage and facilitate the process for optimizing vendor relationships to support DAVACO’s business strategy.
  • Review existing vendor management policies, processes, and procedures to update the industry with the best practices, as necessary.
  • Manage, coach, and develop Vendor Management team.
  • Review vendor contracts and handle negotiations.
  • Understand the Company’s vendor credentialing standards and administratively support vendors as they navigate the credentialing process.
  • Understand and review vendor operational performance reporting to identify potential areas of opportunity for an improved vendor.
  • Support supplier diversity initiatives. Provide guidance to the prospective diverse supplier regarding the diversity certification process.
  • Track progress of T1 and T2 diverse spending goals.
  • Ensure to track, measure, report, and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Prepare processes as well as manage analysis, selection, and transition.
  • Stimulate steady process enhancement to present increasing operational efficiency in entire business partner processes.
