About The Position

The Director, Vendor Management is responsible for establishing and leading the vendor and third-party management function across the organization, with a primary focus on supporting a modern residential mortgage servicing technology and operations environment. This role serves as the central coordination point for vendor engagement, contract administration, third-party governance, and commercial oversight across technology, servicing operations, compliance, and corporate service providers. The Director will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Security, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership to manage the full vendor lifecycle, including sourcing support, RFP coordination, due diligence, contract negotiation support, onboarding, ongoing oversight, renewals, cost management, and vendor performance tracking. This role is responsible for ensuring vendor relationships are operationally effective, commercially sound, contractually governed, and aligned with organizational priorities, while supporting a scalable and well-controlled third-party management framework appropriate for a regulated mortgage servicing environment. This role will also maintain a collaborative dotted-line relationship with the parent company’s Compliance Vendor Management team to support alignment with enterprise third-party risk management standards, governance expectations, and regulatory oversight practices. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational and operational discipline with the ability to manage complex vendor relationships across both business operations and technology domains.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in vendor management, third-party management, procurement operations, contract administration, sourcing, or related operational functions.
  • Experience within mortgage servicing, financial services, fintech, banking, or regulated technology environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, SaaS providers, operational servicing vendors, and/or professional services engagements.
  • Familiarity with third-party risk management processes, vendor governance frameworks, and regulated operational environments.
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations and partnering with internal or external legal teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple vendors, agreements, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, operational, and financial tracking capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across executive leadership, technical teams, and external partners.
  • High attention to detail and strong process orientation.
  • Proficiency with vendor management systems, procurement tools, contract repositories, and Microsoft Office/collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for vendor and third-party management activities across the organization.
  • Manage the end-to-end vendor lifecycle, including intake, contracting, onboarding, due diligence coordination, ongoing oversight, renewals, and termination activities.
  • Maintain centralized tracking and governance of vendor inventory, agreements, statements of work (SOWs), renewals, pricing schedules, and key contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate execution and tracking of NDAs, master service agreements (MSAs), order forms, licensing agreements, and related vendor documentation.
  • Partner closely with Legal to facilitate contract review, negotiation coordination, redline management, execution processes, and contract administration.
  • Ensure vendor records, contracts, risk documentation, and related artifacts are accurately maintained within third-party risk and vendor management systems.
  • Support development and maintenance of vendor governance standards, policies, workflows, and operational controls.
  • Support vendor onboarding and implementation activities, including vendor setup within management and tracking systems, coordination of user access, documentation collection, stakeholder engagement, and other activities necessary to operationalize new vendor relationships.
  • Track vendor spend, budgets, invoices, payment status, and financial commitments across vendors and third-party engagements.
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders to monitor vendor costs, forecast spend, identify optimization opportunities, and support budgeting activities.
  • Monitor renewal timelines, notice periods, pricing escalations, termination clauses, and ongoing vendor governance activities, including periodic risk assessments and performance reviews, to ensure vendors meet contractual obligations, service expectations, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards while minimizing operational and financial risk.
  • Identify opportunities for consolidation, efficiency improvements, cost reduction, or strategic vendor alternatives where appropriate.
  • Coordinate and oversee the review of vendor due diligence documentation, including security, compliance, financial, operational, and contractual materials, partnering with appropriate stakeholders to identify gaps, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with regulatory obligations, third-party risk management standards, and organizational requirements.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to support vendor evaluations, RFPs, RFIs, vendor comparisons, and procurement activities.
  • Coordinate vendor outreach, information gathering, proposal collection, evaluation tracking, and selection support processes.
  • Conduct market and vendor research to identify emerging vendors, alternative solutions, and industry capabilities relevant to mortgage servicing operations and technology.
  • Assist stakeholders in evaluating vendor capabilities, implementation considerations, operational dependencies, and contractual implications.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Information Security, Risk, and Legal teams to support third-party risk management requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Facilitate collection and tracking of due diligence documentation, including SOC reports, insurance certificates, security questionnaires, financials, compliance attestations, and related materials.
  • Monitor vendor obligations, service commitments, and operational dependencies to support organizational risk management and operational continuity.
  • Assist with vendor audit support, examinations, and internal governance reporting activities.
  • Monitor, track, and coordinate resolution of vendor performance, service delivery, operational, and technology-related issues, including SLA breaches, recurring service deficiencies, control gaps, security incidents, and other vendor-related concerns; partner with internal stakeholders and vendor leadership to establish remediation plans, track corrective actions, and ensure issues are resolved to the satisfaction of impacted business, operational, technology, risk, and compliance teams.

  • Partner across Product, Engineering, Operations, and program teams to ensure vendor activities remain aligned with organizational priorities and delivery timelines.
  • Support executive reporting and visibility into vendor portfolio status, risks, upcoming renewals, contract activity, and operational dependencies.
  • Help establish scalable operational processes and governance practices as the organization grows.
