About The Position

The Director of Tax at TransformCo is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s tax strategy, compliance, and reporting. Reporting to the VP of Tax, this role leads a team of tax professionals, develops tax strategies, ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations, and provides strategic tax guidance in support of TransformCo’s financial objectives.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute tax strategies aligned with TransformCo’s financial goals to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance.
Analyze changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of federal, state, and local tax returns and other required tax documentation.
Oversee the preparation and submission of tax payments, estimates, and provisions.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Provide guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Implement internal controls and processes to mitigate tax-related risks and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Conduct tax research and analysis on complex issues, including mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, and international tax matters.
Provide recommendations and solutions aligned with TransformCo’s business goals.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and other cross-functional teams to provide tax guidance and support for business initiatives and transactions.
Perform supervisory functions, including hiring, promotion, demotion, and termination decisions; conduct performance appraisals; and coach and develop associates.
