About The Position

The Director of Strategy and Integration directs referral development efforts for Physician Navigators and Clinical Navigators and oversees the admission process through direct supervision of the Admissions Manager. The role supervises and trains facility-based staff with marketing, case-finding, and relationship-management responsibilities, and implements system- and market-specific initiatives to support organizational goals. This is an exempt position; other related duties may be assigned. The position leads marketing and referral-development strategy, serves as the primary liaison for referral sources and physicians, monitors referral and market trends, and coordinates staff training, meetings, and performance management. It also directs facility marketing initiatives and works with Admissions to facilitate referrals and patient admissions. The role supports service and program development through market research and feasibility work, and provides leadership in staff development, customer service, safety, and quality improvement.

Requirements

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
At least five years of progressive experience in healthcare sales or marketing.
Effective coaching and training skills and the ability to lead and motivate staff.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills with physicians, staff, and referral sources.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective decision-making skills and ability to understand and produce usable data to support marketing responses to community needs.
Ability to learn and understand PAM Health service offerings, programs, and data-management tools.
Problem-solving ability, including the ability to think creatively to find solutions for customers.
Ability to work in an unstructured setting.
Self-motivation.

Nice To Haves

Previous management experience is helpful.
Experience or aptitude to learn and understand PPS guidelines for reimbursement and marketing purposes.

Responsibilities

Lead and motivate Clinical Navigators, Physician Navigators, and the Admissions Manager to achieve organizational goals.
Serve as the primary liaison for referral sources and physicians.
Develop market-specific strategies aligned with strategic plans and goals.
Monitor referral patterns and market competition, and adjust case-finding strategies to use staff resources effectively and facilitate admissions.
Provide regular updates to management to ensure marketing strategies align with system goals.
Conduct needs-assessment surveys with community members, patients, families, physicians, referral sources, and the PAM Health Board; document feedback in Upshot.
Set customer-service expectations and develop initial and ongoing sales training for Clinical Navigators and Physician Navigators.
Conduct bi-weekly marketing meetings with Clinical Navigators and Physician Navigators to review market trends and initiatives.
Supervise, coach, counsel, and evaluate Clinical Navigators, Physician Navigators, and the Admissions Manager; provide backup for Navigators as needed.
Train staff in presentations, tours, and community outreach, and provide requested marketing in-service training and consultation to system staff.
Direct facility marketing and referral-finding strategies and collaborate with Admissions to facilitate the referral process.
Assist in providing referral sources with options for denials, ensure processes are followed, and ensure reports are filed on time.
Communicate PAM Health services to referral sources and the community through visits, presentations, tours, conferences, health screenings, and other outreach.
Coordinate Navigator requests for in-service presentations, facility-based events, and facility tours, involving relevant facility staff.
Ensure inquiries made directly to the facility receive courteous and timely responses and are followed up by the appropriate liaison.
Identify opportunities for new services, programs, and locations; conduct market research to assess feasibility.
Assist with feasibility studies and program development, and create and implement marketing and staff-education plans for approved programs.
Assess the effectiveness of marketing and education plans and revise them as necessary.
Manage and develop staff, align departmental goals with company goals, delegate appropriately, manage conflict, and complete evaluations on time.
Manage company resources responsibly, follow company policies and safety guidelines, and handle confidential information appropriately.
Identify problems, analyze options, make timely decisions, and implement effective solutions.
