Director of Social Services/Program Coordinator
About The Position
LifeSTEPS is seeking an on-call Director of Social Services/Program Coordinator to support low-income individuals and families in Vallejo, California. The role empowers people through education, resources, client assistance, case management, service coordination, and community outreach. It supports residents—particularly older adults—in thriving in place through stable housing and supportive, evidence-based services, and helps build resilient communities. Additional duties include supporting children from low-income and underserved families through after-school education and resources. The position helps provide children with a caring, safe place to receive homework assistance and academic enrichment, and encourages them to develop into resilient, empowered adults. LifeSTEPS is a nonprofit whose mission centers on Skills Training and Educational Programs. The organization aims to empower people with the skills, resources, and support needed to maintain stable housing and break the cycle of poverty, recognizing that affordable housing is complemented by meaningful programs that help people move forward.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.
- Two years of experience in a similar environment providing social services to multifamily households, seniors, and children.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Reliable, insured transportation.
