About The Position

The Director, Social and Community Engagement serves as an ambassador for the Agency's mission and its service delivery framework, which is aligned with the Social Determinants of Health and operates through a trauma-informed lens. This role is responsible for the administration and management of assigned program areas and acts as the key leadership liaison with direct service staff, stakeholders, and the agency’s senior leadership team. The Director ensures the successful delivery of all contracts and their corresponding deliverables within their area(s) of responsibility. Additionally, this position oversees and monitors day-to-day operations, providing leadership and mentoring to staff. The goal is to maintain the ongoing relevancy of services, ensure service recipients receive culturally-relevant and customer-service-friendly care based on successful practices, and deliver services efficiently with measurable outcomes. Operations must align with the Agency’s Balanced Scorecard.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Five (5) years of experience.
  • Previous experience working in the non-profit human services environment, including with low-income, minority, multi-problem families.
  • Five (5) years of previous experience in directing/supervising staff and contracts in the achievement of agency and stakeholder goals.
  • Must submit proof of vaccination status or request an exemption due to religious and/or medical accommodation.
  • State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred in education, health, social work, or other related human service field.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) is desirable.
  • Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and communicate the agency's mission, vision, and values to staff, students, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure clients have access to all five pillars of the social determinants of health, with a trauma-informed lens, through agency services and/or community partners.
  • Participate in the Agency Strategic Planning process and provide leadership for achieving Balanced Scorecard goals, objectives, and metrics, as well as corresponding staff performance metrics.
  • Support the Agency’s talent management efforts by evolving Agency leadership and bench strength and assisting with the implementation of Agency career pathing opportunities.
  • Establish program goals and objectives, monitoring them monthly against weekly/monthly/quarterly benchmarks related to contract budget, program goals, and objectives.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure uninterrupted compliance with agency and stakeholder requirements.
  • Oversee the hiring and direction of assigned staff to facilitate effective and responsive services to clients, contractors, agency collaborators, and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct ongoing supervision, personnel reviews, and evaluations.
  • Recommend agency-funded professional development activities.
  • Approve staff time sheets and mileage/travel reports.
  • Monitor all services and activities carried out in the name of the agency to ensure they are client-centered, culturally competent, and in accordance with agency and stakeholder requirements.
