About The Position

For more than 20 years, GigaKOM has delivered enterprise-level IT solutions to California K–12 school districts, higher education institutions, and state and local government agencies. Through strategic partnerships with leading manufacturers and distributors, we provide secure, scalable networking, infrastructure, wireless, and security solutions designed to support mission-critical public sector environments. As we continue expanding across California, we are seeking a Director of Sales – SLED IT Solutions to lead and accelerate growth within the State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) market. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a strategic sales executive with a proven track record in public sector IT sales and team development.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in IT sales with strong focus on SLED
  • 5+ years in a sales leadership or management role
  • Proven success growing revenue and closing high-value public sector deals
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, infrastructure, and IT solutions
  • Deep knowledge of California public sector procurement processes
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively within California

Nice To Haves

  • Established relationships within California K–12 and government agencies
  • Experience managing vendor and manufacturer partnerships
  • Experience leading complex RFP and bid strategies
  • Background working with enterprise networking platforms (Cisco, HPE-Aruba, Extreme, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a statewide growth strategy across California’s SLED market.
  • Lead business development efforts.
  • Strengthen executive-level relationships.
  • Expand manufacturer partnerships.
  • Build a high-performing sales organization.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to expand GigaKOM’s SLED footprint.
  • Identify high-growth verticals and priority accounts across California.
  • Establish multi-year growth plans aligned with revenue and margin targets.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and adjust strategy as needed.
  • Develop and manage a strong statewide sales pipeline.
  • Secure high-value contracts and long-term strategic agreements.
  • Expand market share within K–12, higher education, and state/local government.
  • Support large RFP responses and strategic bid initiatives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage Account Executives and sales support staff.
  • Establish performance metrics, accountability standards, and growth plans.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture.
  • Provide coaching on complex deal strategy and executive engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Superintendents, CIOs, IT Directors, and procurement leaders.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with top manufacturers and distributors.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Operations to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Represent GigaKOM at industry events, conferences, and association meetings.
  • Provide regular sales performance reports and forecasts to executive leadership.
  • Analyze pipeline health, conversion metrics, and revenue trends.
  • Ensure accurate CRM reporting and sales forecasting.
  • Align sales initiatives with company financial objectives.
