About The Position

Discover the unique charm and character of La Posada de Santa Fe, A Tribute Portfolio Resort & Spa. Located on six acres steps from the historic Plaza, our Southwestern-style hotel is the only full-service resort in downtown Santa Fe. Resort guests enjoy easy access to Santa Fe landmarks like the New Mexico History Museum and Canyon Road art galleries. As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will serve as a key member of the hotel’s executive leadership team, developing and executing the property’s sales and marketing strategy while leading a talented commercial team. We are looking for a leader who is equally comfortable analyzing market performance, developing strategy, coaching a sales team, and personally engaging with key customers and community partners. Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing or senior hotel sales leader within a full-service hotel is required.
• Strong knowledge of group and corporate sales, with demonstrated success developing and growing key accounts is required.
• Proven experience leading sales strategy and delivering measurable revenue results in a competitive hotel market.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing hotel sales team.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand forecasts, market data, competitive intelligence, revenue strategy, and hotel financial performance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to develop strategy while remaining actively engaged in sales execution and customer relationships.

Nice To Haves

• Marriott brand experience is strongly preferred.
• Santa Fe market experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with large, full-service hotels and significant group/meeting business is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy designed to maximize revenue, market share, and profitability across key business segments.
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, urgency, and results.
• Leverage competitive intelligence, market trends, customer insights, and performance data to identify new opportunities and position the La Posada Santa Fe for continued growth.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key corporate accounts, meeting planners, associations, government organizations, travel partners, and community stakeholders throughout the Santa Fe region.
• Maintain a disciplined approach to prospecting, account development, conversion, forecasting, and sales execution while ensuring the team remains focused on the hotel's highest-value opportunities.
• Serve as an influential member of the hotel’s executive leadership team, partnering closely with Operations, Revenue Management, Crescent leadership, and Marriott resources to achieve the property’s business objectives.
• Develop and execute the hotel’s annual Sales & Marketing Plan in alignment with overall business objectives, revenue strategy, and market conditions.
• Lead the solicitation efforts of the sales team while overseeing rate, date, and space commitments for group business.
• Establish clear sales goals, performance expectations, and accountabilities for the commercial team.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop sales professionals while providing ongoing feedback and performance management.
• Conduct regular sales meetings, account reviews, strategy sessions, and performance discussions to ensure the team remains focused on revenue-generating activities.
• Analyze market trends, competitive performance, demand generators, customer behavior, and business intelligence to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, segmentation, business mix, need dates, and overall revenue opportunities.
• Develop strategies to grow corporate, group, association, government, and other relevant market segments.
• Maintain active involvement with key accounts and personally participate in customer presentations, site visits, entertainment, industry events, and business development activities.
• Develop persuasive sales presentations and proposals for prospective customers and strategic accounts.
• Oversee preparation and analysis of sales forecasts.
