About The Position

The Director of Product, SaaS Platforms owns product direction and business outcomes for GitLab’s SaaS environments: GitLab.com, its multi-tenant platform, and GitLab Dedicated, its single-tenant offering. The role connects reliability, scalability, and operability with commercial decisions that make the platforms sustainable businesses. Its scope covers both platform portfolios rather than a single feature roadmap. For GitLab.com, the role guides growth through improved customer isolation and additional cells, and defines rate limits, usage limits, and monetization. For GitLab Dedicated, the role scales operations to hundreds of customers through automation, customer self-service, and closer alignment with GitLab’s latest releases. The director balances customer needs with operating costs and gross margin, and owns both the technical product direction and business side of the portfolio, developing P&L ownership for both platforms and helping establish GitLab.com as a P&L business. This director-level role starts as an individual contributor. It is remote and open to candidates based in the United States or Canada, with no specific time zone preference.

  • Experience translating complex platform challenges into product priorities and working across teams to deliver them.

  • Expand customer self-service through Switchboard, providing tools to monitor, observe, and operate Dedicated tenants.
  • Guide capabilities such as customer-initiated disaster recovery and geographic redundancy, and enable earlier access to beta features on GitLab Dedicated.
  • Reduce the delay between GitLab releases and their availability on Dedicated.
