About the position

The Director of Product Management for Hardware Devices at Flock Safety will be responsible for leading and managing the entire product lifecycle of the company's hardware devices. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive product strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the development and launch of innovative hardware devices. The Director will also build and mentor a team of product managers. This position is ideal for a talented product manager looking to take the lead at a hyper-growth, mission-driven tech company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy for hardware devices, aligned with the company's overall mission and vision.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the long-term roadmap for hardware devices.
  • Lead the product planning process, including defining product requirements, features, and specifications.
  • Drive the product development process, from concept to launch, while maintaining focus on quality, cost, and time-to-market.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify market trends and opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
  • Build, manage, and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ideally, have 6+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience working with image, video, and/or audio devices is ideal.
  • Experience working with solar panels and heated batteries is nice to have.
  • Experience working remotely with distributed teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing hardware devices in a technology-driven company.
  • Extensive experience in product management, with a deep understanding of product lifecycle management principles.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to work closely with engineering teams.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product plans.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, right-sizing process to enable the team and managing expectations across various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Ideally 6+ years of product management experience
  • Experience working with image, video and/or audio devices ideal
  • Experience working with solar panels, heated batteries nice to have
  • Experience working remotely with distributed teams
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing hardware devices in a technology-driven company
