About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Director of National Accounts to drive growth across big box retailers and major distributor accounts within Jewett Cameron’s omni-channel business. This is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for owning customer relationships, pricing, margin, forecasting, and overall commercial performance. The role requires hands-on selling, strong execution, and an “anything’s possible” mindset to overcome challenges and build the business. Success is defined by revenue and margin growth, program expansion, and positioning Jewett Cameron as a preferred, reliable supplier — not simply managing existing accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven success managing and growing big box retail and/or major distributor accounts
  • Experience in building products, outdoor products, manufacturing, or distribution environments
  • Strong commercial instincts with ability to negotiate pricing and terms while protecting margin
  • Track record of growing business through program expansion and account penetration
  • Comfortable navigating supply chain realities and customer expectations
  • Highly self-directed and effective in a lean organization
  • Strong problem-solving ability and bias toward action

Responsibilities

  • Own, manage, and grow relationships with major big box retailers and distributor accounts
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact, responsible for pricing, margin, forecasting, and overall account performance
  • Drive revenue and margin growth through program expansion, assortment growth, and disciplined pricing
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and commercial agreements favorable to Jewett Cameron to protect net margins
  • Position Jewett Cameron as a trusted, innovative, and reliable supplier of quality imported goods at competitive prices
  • Prevent and manage issues related to quality, stockouts, returns, chargebacks, and service performance
  • Identify and execute near-term sales opportunities while building longer-term account strategies
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Product, and Finance to ensure reliable execution
  • Manage customer expectations and resolve issues when challenges arise
  • Travel regularly to visit customers, merchants, stores, and attend trade shows
