About The Position
The Director of Membership Growth develops membership and other program revenue to help the center advance its mission and strategic and operating plans. The position works under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Membership Growth and in partnership with center leadership. It collaborates with the Center Executive and/or Associate Executive Director and Welcome staff on retention strategies, and with related staff to ensure timely, efficient, and consistent service in accordance with association customer service guidelines. The role requires a varied schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly.
- Excellent presentation, writing, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work flexibly in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment.
- Ability to take ownership and provide resolutions.
- Varied work schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Two to four years of experience leading a sales or customer service team.
- One to two years of sales development experience, including developing a strategic sales plan and budget.
- Proven record of taking initiative and using innovative approaches to surpass challenging performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop membership and other program revenue to support the center’s mission and strategic and operating plans.
- Meet or exceed revenue goals for all membership categories, including corporate membership accounts.
- Work with the Center Executive and/or Associate Executive Director and Welcome staff to deploy retention strategies.
- Collaborate with related staff to ensure timely, efficient, and consistent service in accordance with association customer service guidelines.
- Stay knowledgeable about center programs and services and the options available to members, including membership pricing, income-based pricing (MFA), corporate pricing, and insurance-based pricing.
