About The Position

The Activity Leader is responsible for caring for children in Play & Learn and ensuring a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment. The role fosters children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth while demonstrating the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. The Activity Leader interacts positively with parents to develop trusting relationships and supervises Play & Learn/Kids Adventure participants to ensure their safety and provide a caring, nurturing environment.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior, and development.
Knowledge of age-appropriate activities and ability to lead group activities.
Ability to use age-appropriate behavior management techniques according to YMCA guidelines.
Maintain current certifications in First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety & Risk Management, New Employee Orientation, and other position-related training required for Play & Learn/Kids Adventure employees within 60–90 days of employment.
Warm and friendly personality and willingness to interact and play with children.
Understand and accept the YMCA’s goals and values.

Use age-appropriate behavior management techniques according to YMCA guidelines.
