About The Position

The Director of Marketing oversees the planning and implementation of a complete marketing campaign for the facility and all events, including social media, advertising, promotion, and publicity. This role directs the marketing and public relations image of the facility, establishes and maintains relationships with media, industry influencers, and key community and strategic partners. The Director acts as the facility spokesperson and liaison with the public, develops and implements an advertising and publicity campaign to create regional and national awareness, and creates and supervises marketing plans for events to maximize ticket sales and attendance. The position operates the department with a conscious commitment to maximum exposure for the facility and its events through the most effective and efficient means possible, developing marketing materials and procedures to function as an in-house agency. The role maintains and oversees relationships with media representatives, civic and industry organizations, corporate promotional contacts, and event and booking representatives, and oversees the coordination of promotions and special events. The Director remains current on national trends and local market changes, maintains high standards, a positive attitude, and professional appearance, and explores new avenues of revenue. Additionally, the Director develops and maintains a facility website and email subscriber newsletters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field preferred
  • 4 years of related experience in marketing, public relations, or sales in entertainment industry or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Working knowledge of the principles of facility management and/or special events
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and Canva
  • Proficiency in social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, etc., with experience in content creation
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Strong creative background
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work event hours, including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Must be able to move around the facility and talk and hear.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the marketing and public relations image of the facility.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with media, industry influencers, and key community and strategic partners.
  • Acts as facility spokesperson and liaison with the public.
  • Develops and implements an advertising and publicity campaign to create regional and national awareness of the facility.
  • Creates and supervises marketing plans for events when required, to include all available services: media placement, social media, promotional development, non‑profit opportunities, etc., in coordination with event promoters to maximize ticket sales and attendance.
  • Operates the department with a conscious commitment to maximum exposure for the facility and its events, through the most effective and efficient means possible.
  • Develops marketing materials and procedures to have the department function effectively as an in‑house agency.
  • Maintains and oversees relationships with all media representatives, civic and industry organizations, corporate promotional contacts, and event and booking representatives.
  • Oversees the coordination of promotions and special events with event promoters and facility personnel.
  • Remains current on national trends in the industry and local market changes to best serve the facility.
  • Maintains high standards, positive attitude, and professional appearance.
  • Explores new avenues of revenue(s) for the facility.
  • Develops and maintains a facility website and email subscriber newsletters.
  • Directly supervises one Marketing team member.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
