Director of Marketing - B2B

Council CapitalNashville, TN

About The Position

Council Capital is a healthcare-focused private equity firm based in Nashville, Tennessee, managing over $350 million in committed capital. We invest in lower middle market healthcare companies where we see the potential to scale purpose and performance. Our investments span control and minority positions in businesses with enterprise values between $10 million and $100 million. What sets us apart is the Council Model—a proven framework that surrounds founders and leadership teams with a powerful combination of support: our CEO Council of seasoned operators, our Strategic Healthcare Investors who bring real-world insight and access, and our internal Value Creation Team, focused on enabling growth through talent, systems, and strategy. At Council Capital, we’re not just backing companies—we’re helping build enduring businesses that improve lives and shape the future of healthcare. We are a private equity-backed healthcare technology company specializing in payment integrity. Our AI-driven analytics platform enables commercial and government payers to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA), delivering measurable financial outcomes across the healthcare ecosystem. We are rapidly scaling and investing in marketing as a key growth engine. This role is designed to introduce discipline, consistency, and compelling storytelling to our go-to-market approach, turning a sophisticated platform into a clear, differentiated brand.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in B2B marketing, with a record of hands-on execution across brand, digital, and demand generation.
  • Proven ability to translate complex or technical products into clear buyer value propositions.
  • Strong writer and communicator who produces polished, sales-ready messaging with minimal direction, without obvious use of AI.
  • Demonstrated innovation and creativity using AI and modern marketing technologies to generate ideas, test approaches, and deliver measurable results.
  • Digital fluency: website and conversion optimization, marketing automation (HubSpot or similar), and SEO/AEO with proven outcomes.
  • Event marketing experience, including complete ownership of trade shows or conferences and vendor management.
  • Comfortable executing strategies and budgets set by a senior leader; disciplined, low-ego, and self-motivated.
  • Healthcare, payer, or regulated-industry marketing experience.
  • Thrives as an individual contributor in a lean, fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience marketing payment integrity, FWA, claims, or healthcare analytics solutions.
  • Familiarity marketing to both commercial payers and government/Medicaid/Medicare buyers.
  • Experience driving brand consistency at a scaling or newly independent

Responsibilities

  • Own and unify brand and positioning: Bring consistency to templates, decks, email signatures, and collateral for a professional external brand.
  • Enforce message discipline: Maintain consistent, on-strategy external messaging across commercial payer, government/Medicaid, and Medicare audiences.
  • Translate capabilities into buyer value: Turn complex payment integrity and FWA capabilities into clear, differentiated value propositions for each buyer persona.
  • Run digital marketing end to end: Improve website user experience and conversion, maximize value from the marketing automation stack (e.g., HubSpot), and grow qualified traffic through SEO/AEO with measurable targets.
  • Build sales-enablement narratives: Deliver market-ready messaging frameworks and sales collateral at about 70 to 80% finished, so product and sales teams only refine the final details.
  • Design and execute buyer-persona campaigns: Create distinct programs for commercial, government, and Medicare/Medicaid buyers.
  • Own events end to end: Plan and run approximately 6 to 10 events per year (about 2 requiring travel), manage booth, collateral, pre-event demand, post-event follow-up, and vendors and sponsorships.
  • Manage to a budget you help optimize: Ensure maximum value from marketing spend set by the Chief Growth Officer, with disciplined stewardship.
  • Report on effectiveness: Define and track marketing KPIs—traffic, conversion, and pipeline contribution—and share results and learnings with leadership.
