About The Position

As Director of People at vCluster Labs, you will turn people strategy into practical programs, tools, and infrastructure. Reporting to the VP of People, you will help build a modern, AI-first people function for a rapidly growing company with employees in 21 countries. You will develop scalable approaches that allow a small People team to support the company as it grows. The role spans strategic people programs, AI-enabled tooling, global employment compliance, operational infrastructure, leadership development, and culture. You will build and improve programs such as compensation reviews and performance cycles; extend existing AI tools and agents and create new workflows; manage employment compliance across countries, including Germany; oversee the EOR setup and Rippling HRIS; and develop leadership and culture programs for a distributed workforce. vCluster Labs is a venture-backed, remote-first company headquartered in San Francisco. It builds infrastructure software for AI cloud providers and AI factories and is the company behind the open-source vCluster technology.

  • Experience running Rippling as an HRIS and payroll platform and keeping employee, payroll, and ATS data aligned.
  • Daily use of AI tools and experience building workflows, agents, or automations that replace manual people work.

  • Manage the company's EOR setup and work with Finance to assess when a country should have its own entity.
  • Keep Rippling accurate as the system of record and build policies and employee lifecycle processes that can scale as the company grows.
  • Create and deliver leadership training for managers across regions, including practical tools for feedback, performance conversations, and managing distributed teams.
  • Design and run global culture programs and events, including company offsites, local gatherings, and remote rituals.
  • Measure which culture programs employees value and discontinue those that do not provide value.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance, including plans for eligible dependents; benefits vary by country.
  • Flexible working schedule, with emphasis on results rather than fixed clock-in and clock-out times.
