About The Position

As Director of People at vCluster Labs, you will build and implement the strategic programs, tools, and infrastructure that support a fast-growing, globally distributed company. Reporting to the VP of People, you will help translate people strategy into practical programs and use an AI-first approach to enable a small People team to support the company at scale. The company has doubled in a year and employs people in 21 countries. You will lead programs such as compensation reviews and performance cycles, build AI-powered tools and automations for People operations, and own global employment compliance, including for the German workforce. You will manage the employer-of-record setup, help determine when the company should establish local entities, and maintain Rippling as the system of record. You will also develop leadership training for managers across regions and create global culture programs, events, and remote rituals, measuring their impact and improving or discontinuing them as appropriate.

  • Hands-on employer-of-record and entity experience across the US, EMEA, and other regions.
  • Experience supporting a remote team across multiple time zones and delivering programs, training, and employee support asynchronously.
  • Experience operating Rippling as an HRIS and payroll platform and keeping employee, payroll, and ATS data aligned.
  • Daily use of AI tools and experience building workflows, agents, or automations that replace manual People work.
  • Experience building leadership training and culture programs from scratch and delivering measurable outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Build and extend AI tools, agents, workflows, and automations for recruiting and People operations, including onboarding, policy questions, manager support, and reporting.
  • Own employment compliance across the countries where the company operates, working with outside counsel on contracts, statutory benefits, working time rules, works council obligations, and terminations.
  • Manage the employer-of-record setup and partner with Finance to assess when a country should have its own entity.
  • Maintain Rippling as the system of record and build policies and employee lifecycle processes to support company growth.
  • Create and run leadership training for managers across regions, including practical tools for feedback, performance conversations, and leading distributed teams.
  • Design and run global culture programs and events, including company offsites, local gatherings, and remote rituals.
  • Measure which culture programs and events employees value and discontinue those that do not provide value.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance, including plans for eligible dependents; benefits vary by country.
  • Flexible working schedule, with results prioritized over fixed clock-in and clock-out times.
  • Flexible workplace and location arrangements.
