About The Position

The Family Engagement and Partnerships Director is responsible for building and sustaining meaningful connections between KIPP Atlanta Schools, the families we serve, and the communities in which we operate. Reporting to the Managing Director of Advancement, this role contributes to regional strategy while leading the design, execution, and evaluation of family engagement programming, community partnership development, and donor and volunteer engagement initiatives across KIPP Atlanta's 11 schools. Family Engagement & Partnerships Manager serves as a visible leader and trusted relationship builder who mobilizes families, community partners, and supporters as active advocates for KIPP Atlanta's mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in family engagement within the context of K-12 schools, communications, marketing, community partnership development, or community organizing
  • Prior school leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge of greater Atlanta community with ties to communities preferred
  • Experience designing and delivering high-quality family learning experiences
  • Experience leading cohort-based engagement initiatives
  • Demonstrated track record of building the capacity of families, volunteers, and community partners as active contributors to scholar success
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and implement solutions
  • Ability to manage both the big picture and the details
  • Strong sense of judgment

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of KIPP Atlanta's regional family engagement and community partnerships strategy, translating organizational priorities into actionable programming and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop benchmarks for success and maintain comprehensive data to track engagement trends, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement across systems and structures.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the Managing Director of Advancement on emerging community dynamics, family needs, and partnership opportunities that may impact organizational direction.
  • Manage the regional family engagement and community events calendar, coordinating across teams to align programming, avoid conflicts, and maximize community impact.
  • Participate in relevant committee meetings, community convenings, and organizational events as a representative of the Impact team.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of a robust regional family engagement programming calendar across all 11 KIPP Atlanta schools, ensuring consistent quality and equitable access for all families.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute whole-child scholar experiences including Best of KIPP Atlanta signature events such as the Spelling Bee, Chess Tournament, and other enrichment activities that celebrate scholar growth, build community pride, and foster a culture of joy and excellence across all 11 schools.
  • Create and oversee strategies, programs, and services that increase parent and community participation and strengthen the partnership among families, communities, and schools to improve student academic achievement and school success.
  • Partner with the Teaching & Learning team to develop and implement family agreements that set expectations for how families can support their scholar while attending a KIPP school.
  • Design and execute in-person and virtual engagement events specifically targeted at introducing KIPP Atlanta to new audiences, attracting community supporters, and fostering deeper connections to our mission.
  • Keep programming fresh and engaging by incorporating new technologies, creative formats, and interactive experiences that reflect the diversity of KIPP Atlanta's communities.
  • Partner with school leaders and Family Engagement Liaisons to identify campus-specific needs and develop tailored programming that reflects the culture and priorities of each school.
  • Proactively engage current and prospective KIPP Atlanta families as critical advocates and ambassadors for the organization, identifying opportunities to amplify their voices in school and organizational decision-making.
  • Collect, track, and analyze family engagement data to evaluate program effectiveness and share learnings with school and regional leadership.
  • Manage key partnerships that support direct programming, learning experiences, and career exploration programs for scholars K-12, ensuring alignment between partner contributions and the academic, social, and whole-child development goals of KIPP Atlanta Schools.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with a diverse portfolio of community partners including faith communities, corporate partners, alumni, and grassroots allies.
  • Build and strengthen relationships through Adopt A School program with corporate and community partners by organizing volunteer engagement opportunities such as service days, school-based volunteer events, that demonstrate the value of collaboration with KIPP Atlanta.
  • Develop and grow a KIPP Atlanta community volunteer network, creating structured pathways for partners and community members to contribute meaningfully to the success of our scholars and schools.
  • Organize and manage volunteer programming that recognizes and retains current volunteers while attracting new supporters, highlighting the value and impact of their involvement in tangible ways.
  • Leverage storytelling and creative communication to illustrate KIPP Atlanta's mission, impact, and values across community-facing channels, ensuring consistent brand representation.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop compelling community-facing materials including partnership updates, volunteer impact stories, and community engagement content.
  • Represent KIPP Atlanta Schools as an ambassador and community partner at public forums, neighborhood events, and coalition convenings.
  • Utilize engagement management systems (e.g., Salesforce) to monitor community and volunteer engagement, track event attendance, and assess the effectiveness of partnership strategies; provide regular reports on activity and outcomes to the Managing Director of Advancement.
