About The Position

The Director of Facilities, Safety, and Security leads and oversees enterprise facilities operations, safety, and security within Red Stag Fulfillment’s warehouse environment. The role is responsible for smooth facility operations, effective safety programs, and safeguarding people and assets. It requires a background in facilities management, workplace safety, and security operations, along with the ability to work cross-functionally and make data-driven decisions. The Director manages facility maintenance, space and equipment use, capital expenditures, safety programs and workers’ compensation processes, security measures, emergency planning, budgets, and related performance metrics. The role collaborates with senior leadership, employees, regulators, law enforcement, and vendors to support operational goals and maintain safety and security standards. Some travel to the Salt Lake City location is required. The position is classified as exempt and salaried.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
7–10 years of experience in facilities management, safety, and security.
At least 5 years in a leadership role within a warehouse or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and warehouse security protocols.
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in facilities management software, safety management systems, and security technologies.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to remain stationary at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Ability to work on the warehouse floor, including continuous movement and regularly transporting freight up to 50 pounds; heavier items are team-lifted.
Ability to reach, bend, and carry.
Ability to work in an environment where the temperature matches the outside temperature.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
OSHA Certification 7005, 7100, 7105, or 7500.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification.

Responsibilities

Manage maintenance schedules, routine inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment improvements across the enterprise.
Develop and implement plans for efficient use of space, utilities, and equipment to optimize warehouse performance.
Lead and manage capital expenditures.
Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise safety programs, including administration and maintenance of the workers’ compensation process.
Conduct safety audits, identify hazards, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and company safety policies.
Develop safety training for new hires and ongoing employee education.
Support workplace incident investigations and report findings to senior leadership.
Coordinate with external safety organizations and regulators to meet safety standards and certification requirements.
Oversee warehouse and asset security, including surveillance systems, access control, and physical security measures.
Develop and implement protocols to protect personnel and property.
Lead the development and implementation of emergency response plans for natural disasters, fires, and other emergencies.
Work with law enforcement and security vendors to resolve security-related issues.
Monitor and manage security budgets and pursue cost-effective facility safeguards.
Manage and report KPIs related to facilities maintenance, safety incidents, and security metrics.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align facilities, safety, and security objectives with company goals.
Identify cost savings and operational efficiency improvements without compromising safety or security.
Ensure appropriate allocation of resources for maintenance, safety equipment, and security systems.
