About The Position

The Director of Evangelization is a vital leadership role within Mother Seton Parish, responsible for fostering a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church among parishioners. This individual will lead parish family faith formation, adult discipleship, OCIA coordination, and youth and young adult ministry. The goal is to cultivate a cohesive culture of evangelization and faith formation throughout the parish community, ensuring alignment with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and its magisterium.

Requirements

  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic, faithful to the magisterium of the Church.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Catechetics, or other related field.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience working in ministry.
  • Strong belief in the teachings of the Catholic Church and ability to articulate them.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in public speaking and training.
  • Working knowledge of pastoral plans and documents concerning evangelization, family formation, OCIA, and youth and young adult ministry.
  • Must be dedicated and flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate monthly family faith formation opportunities, particularly for families with children preparing for sacraments.
  • Develop formation experiences that empower parents as the primary educators in their faith.
  • Support the Young Family Ministry.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure seamless continuity between parish formation programs and sacramental preparation.
  • Provide monthly faith formation for parents whose children are preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion.
  • Assist in developing ongoing adult discipleship and catechesis opportunities.
  • Coordinate the parish OCIA process, including scheduling and team formation.
  • Support catechists, sponsors, and volunteers involved in the OCIA process.
  • Collaborate with clergy and music ministry on liturgical rites and sacramental preparation.
  • Coordinate youth ministry and young adult ministry opportunities with other staff.
  • Organize monthly gatherings, service opportunities, and faith formation experiences for youth and young adults.
  • Encourage the integration of youth and young adults into parish life and leadership.
  • Recruit, train, support, and evaluate volunteers for assigned ministries.
  • Promote a welcoming and collaborative culture among ministry volunteers and leaders.
  • Work closely with the Director of Faith Formation – Children’s Sacramental to ensure cohesive pastoral care and communication for families in multiple programs.
  • Collaborate with parish staff and clergy to support parish evangelization and formation goals.
  • Assist in planning and administering budgets for assigned ministries and programs.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Pastor.
  • Maintain compliance with diocesan and parish policies and procedures.
