About The Position

Requirements

  • 21+ years of age
  • 2+ years supervisory experience
  • 2+ years experience working within a child care/camp/sports environment
  • 2+ years experience as a program instructor in a recognized youth development or camp program
  • 1+ years experience with administrative experience in programming
  • Attend Full Listen First Training within the first 6 months of employment
  • Certified Lifeguard or become Shallow Water Lifeguard certified within 90 days of hire (training can be provided)

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Education, Sports Management or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic ideas to improve youth development programming
  • Foster a climate of high member engagement and satisfaction
  • Uphold member service and risk management practices across locations
  • Ensure sustainability of programs while maintaining proper expenses
  • Provide clear expectations of program content, services offered and policies and procedures to ensure a high quality programming
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure occupancy is maximized and the brand is captured
  • Demonstrate program and service innovation based on data and trends
  • Ensure that facilities are appropriate for high quality service delivery
  • Be in ratio as needed to ensure classes and programs run as scheduled
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises all staff including lifeguards, swim instructors, NinjaZone Instructors, etc. This includes: holding regular staff meetings, ongoing coaching, completion of performance appraisals and position objectives and complete payroll
  • Engages with the membership team in any/all topics related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training
  • Supports Special Events and other interdepartmental needs as necessary
  • Attends organizational and departmental meetings as required
  • Leadership of all youth/adult sports programs, including program creation and management (meeting enrollment metrics), scheduling of staff, curriculum, off site programming, fiscal management and special events
  • Provide leadership and supervision to NinjaZone, including staff supervision, staff training, program implementation, parent communication, program evaluation, etc.
  • Develop and implement program growth strategies
  • Performs in lockstep with the Aquatics 4KEYC and all related positions, ex: Director of Private Lessons, Senior Director of Group Exercise, etc.
  • Actively participates in the Aquatics 4KeyC team to help develop and implement strategies to advance the Aquatics department across the association
  • Responds quickly and effectively to accidents and incidents. Accurately prepares and submits Accident and Incident Reports in a timely manner
  • Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and all safety procedures
  • Ensures that all Department of Public Health and YUSA standards for aquatic environments and programs are met or exceeded. Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck. Work closely with the facilities team to maintain the filtration/chemical systems and assist with the maintenance and repair of all equipment and facilities
  • Responds effectively and in accordance with YMCA guidelines to problems that occur. Anticipates and minimizes potential service gaps with participants or the aquatic environment. Executes and enforces all safety regulations, policies and procedures
  • Site Director for Warminster Branch Summer Camps (NinjaZone, Aqua Bucks, Gymnastics, Art, etc.)
  • Support the overall Warminster Camp operations
  • Support School Day Off Camp
  • Leadership of after school enrichment programs within Centennial School District
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with school districts and rental partners
  • Maintain key outside/community relationships and organize community outreach events at branch and with other organizations in the local communities
  • Connect with and build relationships with community partners, such as school districts and other youth organizations to continue service in the community
