About The Position

The Director of Engineering oversees the property’s facilities maintenance function and ensures the efficient operation, maintenance, service, and repair of all equipment. This role leads the Maintenance staff and applies technical expertise in engineering and maintenance to support hotel operations. The Director evaluates problems and selects effective courses of action, communicates clearly with coworkers and guests, works with financial information, and develops maintenance policies and procedures. The position also involves scheduling maintenance and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 5 years of experience in a related field.
Prior management experience.
Experience in a hotel or related field is required.
Technical expertise in engineering, maintenance, and related fields.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and financial skills.

Trade license preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise Maintenance staff and oversee the maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Apply engineering, maintenance, and related technical expertise to ensure efficient operations.
Evaluate alternative courses of action and make timely, accurate decisions, including in high-pressure situations.
Communicate information and ideas clearly, and listen to and understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests.
Work with financial information and data, including basic arithmetic, to support maintenance operations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintenance requests.
Schedule maintenance and ensure compliance with regulations.
Oversee the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of property equipment.
