About The Position

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a self-motivated Director of Dining Service II to oversee day-to-day operations and financial success for one or more foodservice locations at Stetson Hall, Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts. The role advises and provides hands-on operational support while ensuring adherence to contract guidelines, Health Department regulations, company standards, and expectations for food quality, freshness, and presentation. The location offers a range of dining stations featuring homestyle classics and current culinary trends.

Requirements

• Five or more years of operational food-service management experience.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends, including quality, production, sanitation, food-cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
• Demonstrated leadership experience supervising and developing staff.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
• Excellent customer-service skills and commitment to high quality standards.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial reports.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Computer experience.
• ServSafe® certification.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the hiring, training, and development of staff to uphold service and food-quality standards.
• Maintain client and customer satisfaction by consistently meeting food-quality and customer-service standards.
• Prepare and complete daily, weekly, and financial reports, including reports on food and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with quality and food-safety standards to protect customers’ health and safety.
• Build strong client relationships and align dining programs with client objectives to support satisfaction and retention.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient dining-service operations.
