About The Position

Howard Memorial Hospital is seeking a Director of Dietary for a full-time, exempt position. The Director leads the Dietary Department’s daily operations, develops its capital and operating budgets, and oversees food purchasing, storage, inventory, and budgeted costs per meal. The role also coordinates departmental activities to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and hospital policies and procedures. Additional duties include ordering and purchasing food from licensed vendors and following food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Certified Dietary Manager certification required.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 3 years of experience preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the daily operations of the Dietary Department.
• Develop the Dietary Department’s capital and operating budgets.
• Plan and direct purchasing of food supplies, storage and inventory of supplies, and budgeted costs per meal.
• Coordinate departmental activities to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and hospital policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties required for ordering and purchasing food from licensed vendors and following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
