About The Position

The Director of Development at Arms Wide is responsible for ensuring the integration of a comprehensive communications and donor relations strategy for the organization. This role oversees all aspects of external communications, fundraising appeals, donor stewardship, corporate partnerships, special events, and grants management. The Director of Development is also responsible for developing and implementing fundraising plans and activities with assistance from the Board of Directors. This position is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the President and CEO, and provides direct supervision to development/marketing staff. Arms Wide is a child and family-serving organization with a 49-year history dedicated to transforming the lives of children in need of safe and nurturing permanent families in Houston and South Texas.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, four-year college or university
A minimum of three years of commensurate work experience
Reliable transportation is required.
