About The Position

The Director of Conference Services directs, manages, trains, and leads the Catering Service Manager and Coordinator to achieve the resort’s banquet budget goals. This role provides strong leadership, creativity, and interpersonal skills to a dynamic team and is accountable for the management and profitability of events and conferences, including maximizing revenue and profitability, controlling expenses, and protecting the guest experience. The Director establishes and maintains rapport with guests before, during, and after conferences, exceeds their expectations, and encourages repeat business. The role acts as a liaison between guests and operating departments to ensure successful meetings and generate repeat business.

Requirements

Five or more years of experience as a Director of Conference Services or Director of Catering in a full-service resort or hotel.
Experience handling incentive programs, meetings, events, and weddings.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Delphi and Opera.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload, multitask, solve problems, and provide solutions.
Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
Good initiative and ability to multitask in a busy work environment.
