About The Position

This is an opportunity to help shape the next phase of growth for one of the most innovative companies in sports technology. As the strategic business partner to the General Manager and as a member of the North America Leadership Team, the Director of Commercial Excellence will play a central role in how the business plans, measures performance, allocates resources, launches products, and executes commercially across multiple channels and business units. Working across Marketing, Product, Finance, Operations, Customer Support, and the Business Unit leaders, this individual will design, build and continuously improve the commercial operating system that connects strategy with execution through commercial planning, forecasting, business analytics, operating cadence, and cross-functional alignment. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how Rapsodo North America plans, prioritizes, measures performance, and executes. As a member of the North America Leadership Team, you will influence strategic decisions, build the operating mechanisms that drive commercial excellence, and play a defining role in shaping the future commercial success of Rapsodo North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Excellence, Business Operations, Commercial Strategy, Revenue Operations, Commercial Finance, Business Planning, or related leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive decision-making in a fast-paced, growth-oriented business.
  • Ability to independently build financial models, scenario analyses, and channel-level performance views that support executive resource allocation decisions — not just oversee the work of analysts.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Demonstrated experience aligning commercial demand forecasts with inventory planning, product availability, or launch readiness within a consumer products, hardware, or multi-channel business.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting or analyzing performance across multiple commercial channels, including at least one of: Direct-to-Consumer, Retail, Amazon/ecommerce, or B2B distribution.
  • Proven ability to influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Experienced leading and developing small, high-performing teams.
  • This role requires a player-coach mindset — equally comfortable setting direction, diving into the analysis, and presenting recommendations to executive leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving as a strategic and analytical business partner to a General Manager, Business Unit Leader, Commercial Leader or Revenue Leader, typically gained through roles such as Director of Commercial Excellence, Director of Commercial Strategy, Director of Business Planning, Director of Revenue Strategy, or Commercial Finance Director.
  • MBA or other advanced business degree.
  • Experience within consumer technology, hardware, SaaS, subscription, ecommerce, or other high-growth commercial businesses.
  • Experience leveraging CRM, ERP, commercial systems, and analytical tools to improve business performance. Helpful but secondary — this role prioritizes commercial judgment and analytical insight over systems administration.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation to improve business insights, reporting, forecasting, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and North America Leadership Team.
  • Translate business performance into actionable recommendations and executive insights.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and commercial performance reviews.
  • Identify commercial risks, growth opportunities, operational constraints, and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop business cases supporting strategic investment decisions.
  • Build, implement, and continuously improve the commercial operating system for North America.
  • Establish the operating cadence, business reviews, executive dashboards, KPIs, and governance mechanisms that drive accountability and execution.
  • Develop and maintain a single source of truth for commercial performance across the business.
  • Improve reporting consistency, data quality, business visibility, and decision-making across functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of commercial processes and operating mechanisms.
  • Lead commercial forecasting, demand planning, and annual business planning across North America.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain and Operations to translate commercial demand forecasts into inventory readiness, supply planning, and successful product launches.
  • Develop executive reporting, dashboards, and business performance analytics across channels and business units.
  • Monitor business performance against plan, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Build scenario models and business insights that support executive decision-making, resource allocation, and commercial planning.
  • Evaluate channel performance across Direct-to-Consumer, Amazon, Retail, Distribution, and B2B businesses.
  • Analyze promotional effectiveness, product performance, customer trends, and business profitability.
  • Develop recommendations that improve commercial performance and resource allocation.
  • Support new product launches by ensuring commercial readiness, forecasting accuracy, and cross-functional execution.
  • Lead the commercial operations and enablement functions ensuring the systems, processes, and operating mechanisms that underpin commercial execution continue to evolve with the business.
  • Ensure commercial technologies, CRM platforms, forecasting inputs, operational planning, and business processes effectively support business objectives.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Finance, Operations, Customer Support, and Business Systems to continuously improve commercial workflows, reporting capabilities, and operational effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement across commercial systems, operational processes, forecasting, and business planning.
