About The Position

Wellstone Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Services. This role involves performing a multitude of functions related to social services and business management of the Programs, ensuring staff perform their duties efficiently and therapeutically to meet patient needs from a bio-psychosocial standpoint. The Director of Clinical Services also ensures the general day-to-day functions of programming are met, with the ultimate goal of ensuring all patients have access to therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. This includes providing basic consultation, teaching, specialized clinical interventions, crisis intervention, family therapy, and feedback to staff and referrals. The position oversees the development of thorough and accurate psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, and appropriate discharge planning/aftercare referrals. The role also serves as a clinical liaison to the community and referral sources, requiring effective communication with clients and staff, the ability to prioritize demands, and accurate instruction following. Knowledge of documentation requirements and timely completion is essential, as are excellent judgment and clinical skills. Understanding of developmental stages across the lifespan and the social, cultural, and environmental influences on patients and families is also required.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Independent Licensure in Indiana (LCSW, LHMC, or LMFT)
  • An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.
  • Minimum of 5 years Director level experience in Behavioral Health/Healthcare environment.
  • Must be able to take and pass CPI and CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify staff strengths and note these during interactions with staff.
  • Document significant changes in staff's performance and periodically review with each staff member noting positive or negative changes as indicated.
  • Ensure that staff work their respective schedules and are responsible for giving appropriate notice of intent to use PTO.
  • Ensure weekly treatment teams are held and documented for each program provided. Lead by example with staff and demonstrate knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors and DSM criteria related to the ages of the patients served and incorporate the knowledge base into the treatment team.
  • Participate in, and effectively contribute to staff meetings, conferences, and treatment planning meetings as well as other required meetings.
  • Review and modify treatment plan templates based on changes in CMS to ensure that all treatment plans are in guidelines of CMS or other governing bodies such as the state.
  • Conduct various trainings as appropriate.
  • Monitor program activities and provide feedback to staff.
  • Serve as a productive member of the Senior Leadership team.
  • Serve as the Administrator On Call on a consistent rotation with other Senior Leaders.
  • Interact and communicate with community agencies.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff and assure services are provided to the highest level of professionalism and to the best ability of each member of staff within their abilities.
