About The Position

Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is seeking a Director of Military Services to provide consultative services to 25-30 BGCA-affiliated military organizations. This remote role, based in the NE Region, requires an energetic and passionate professional with a strong understanding of military culture. The Director will conduct quarterly consultations (three virtual, one in-person) to strengthen operations and enhance impact for youth in military communities. This position is critical for supporting Clubs that serve military-connected youth and families, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality programs and meaningful impact. The ideal candidate works independently, demonstrates excellent time management, and communicates effectively with military leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, social services, education, or related field.
  • Five years of relevant experience in youth program management or nonprofit consulting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • High energy, adaptability, and the ability to connect with diverse personalities.
  • Solid understanding of military culture, lifestyle, and deployment cycles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with command officers and other military leaders.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with youth development leaders to design and implement strategies that meet the unique needs of military-connected youth.
  • Guide program teams in delivering safe and high-impact youth center experiences that foster belonging and resilience.
  • Deliver coaching, training, and professional development that strengthens staff capacity and leadership effectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary BGCA liaison, ensuring organizations receive consultation, resources, and training tailored to their needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Chief Professional Officers and key leaders within assigned military youth centers.
  • Facilitate executive coaching, onboarding, and mentoring for Youth Directors and leadership teams.
  • Foster high-level customer service relationships with school-age and youth center leadership, supporting them in setting and achieving measurable goals.
  • Encourage data-driven strategies to increase member participation and retention, empowering local leaders to make data-informed decisions.
  • Coordinate with BGCA subject matter experts to deliver technical assistance and customized solutions.
  • Provide ongoing training support through virtual and on-site consultations, delivering customized assistance that aligns with each organization’s goals.
  • Manage schedules, documentation, and reporting requirements to ensure accountability and alignment with BGCA standards.
