Director, McDonalds Global Account

Coates GroupChicago, IL

About The Position

Build and maintain a single, authoritative product and innovation roadmap for the global McDonald's account, providing clear visibility of upcoming technologies, features, and Coates-led initiatives across the business. The role aggregates intelligence from technology, innovation, and market teams to ensure the roadmap reflects both client needs and commercial opportunity — enabling markets to proactively plan adoption, supporting go-to-market readiness, and driving product visibility and alignment at a global account level.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in product management, product operations, technology roadmap management, or a closely related discipline, across a global account or enterprise client context.
  • Demonstrated experience aggregating and synthesising inputs from multiple technology, engineering, or innovation workstreams into a consolidated product roadmap or portfolio view
  • Proven ability to work across product, technology, and commercial functions — translating technical roadmap activity into commercially relevant language for account and business development teams
  • Experience representing product or technology interests in governance forums, with a track record of advocating effectively for account or segment priorities within product planning processes
  • Strong background in identifying and assessing new product or technology opportunities, including experience working with client-facing teams to capture and validate demand signals
  • Background in hardware and software technology environments, with an ability to navigate both (highly desirable)
  • Familiarity with digital signage, display technologies, content management systems, or QSR technology ecosystems (highly desirable)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to aggregate complex, multi-source product and technology intelligence into a single, coherent roadmap that is accurate, accessible, and genuinely useful to diverse internal stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical roadmap content into commercially relevant insights — enabling account, strategy, and market teams to make informed decisions about adoption, go-to-market timing, and business development
  • Ability to identify emerging product opportunities from client signals, market intelligence, and technology trends, and to build a compelling internal case for their inclusion in the roadmap
  • Ability to represent the McDonald's account with authority in product and technology governance forums, advocating effectively for account priorities without losing sight of broader organisational product direction
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across product, technology, and innovation functions — maintaining the trust and access needed to keep the roadmap current, comprehensive, and commercially connected

Responsibilities

  • Aggregate inputs from McDonald's Tech, NAM Tech, IM Tech, McDonald's Innovation, Core Hardware, and Core Software to build and maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date McDonald's product roadmap.
  • Maintain the roadmap as the single source of truth for all McDonald's-related product workstreams, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and accessibility for internal stakeholders.
  • Represent McDonald's as a segment in Product, Technology & Lifecycle Governance (PTLG) forums, advocating for account priorities in product planning processes.
  • Identify and explore new product opportunities for the McDonald's account based on market intelligence, client signals, and emerging technology trends.
  • Partner with internal teams to assess new opportunities and incorporate validated items into the McDonald's product roadmap with appropriate prioritisation.
  • Translate client strategy and product intelligence into actionable inputs that shape Coates innovation direction for the account.
  • Work with the Senior Strategy Manager and market account teams to inform business development plans based on GTM timelines and product readiness status.
  • Ensure the roadmap proactively supports growth plan objectives, flagging dependencies or readiness risks that could impact commercial or market expansion activities.
  • Provide clear, timely product visibility to markets so they can proactively plan adoption, deployment preparation, and client engagement.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with technology, product, and innovation stakeholders across the business to ensure roadmap inputs are current and comprehensive.
  • Communicate roadmap status, changes, and dependencies clearly to the VP, Account Director, and Strategy Manager, ensuring cross-team alignment at all times.
