Austin Peay State University's Department of Health and Human Performance seeks a dynamic leader to serve as the founding Director of the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) Program beginning June 2026. The successful candidate will lead all efforts creating the new Master of Athletic Training (MAT) Program, leading to successful CAATE accreditation, with the inaugural cohort launching in Summer 2027. The successful candidate will be brought in at the Associate or Full Professor level, depending on experience and qualifications. The Department of Health and Human Performance seeks qualified applicants who meet the criteria at the Associate or Full Professor level who possess a terminal degree (Ph.D., DAT, DSc, ScD, or EdD) in athletic training or related field. The successful candidate is also expected to be a BOC-certified athletic trainer who is eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee. The successful candidate is expected to lead and maintain the program through the CAATE accreditation, teach classes, conduct scholarship, advise/mentor students, and provide service to the University, their profession, and the community.
