Director, Marketplaces & Ecommerce

AuraNew York City, NY
Onsite

About The Position

Aura was founded by two early Twitter software engineers who wanted to take what they knew about social connections and create a way for families to come together around their best memories. The combination of seamless sharing across a smartphone app and a beautiful digital frame resonated, and Aura is now used by millions of families with more than 1 billion photos shared in 2025 alone. What is known as the best digital picture frame by Wirecutter has always been about something more ambitious: a private, trusted platform for connection with your close loved ones. Aura is now available in thousands of leading retail stores across North America and Europe. About the Role As Director of E-commerce, you own the post-click experience on auraframes.com and Amazon marketplace experience. From the moment a shopper lands on the site to the moment they convert (and come back), you are responsible for turning traffic into revenue. This is a high-ownership role on our Amazon 3P experience, Shopify-powered storefront, and other marketplaces. You will lead conversion rate optimization, site merchandising, and the on-site customer journey, partnering closely with paid media, lifecycle, brand, and product to make auraframes.com the best place to buy an Aura.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in e-commerce, with significant time owning a DTC storefront and marketplaces.
  • Shopify experience strongly preferred.
  • A proven CRO track record. You can point to tests you designed and the revenue they drove.
  • Strong analytical fluency. You are comfortable with site analytics (GA4 or equivalent), A/B testing tools, and translating data into decisions.
  • Merchandising instinct paired with operational rigor. You can make a page convert and ship it on time.
  • A bias toward ownership. You set strategy and you execute, and you do not wait to be told what to test.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills across marketing, product, and engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling a brand through $100M+ in DTC revenue.
  • Familiarity with measurement frameworks (MER, incrementality, post-purchase attribution).
  • Experience with gifting or considered-purchase categories.

Responsibilities

  • Own the marketplace strategy across Amazon and emerging channels, balancing profitable growth, brand presentation, operational excellence, and channel expansion.
  • Own the full funnel from landing to purchase.
  • Build and run a continuous testing roadmap, across landing pages, PDPs, cart, and checkout and build a mature CRO discipline.
  • Set the agenda for what we test, why, and how we measure lift.
  • Manage product presentation, bundling, pricing display, and promotional execution on-site.
  • Translate seasonal moments (Back to School, holiday, gifting) into compelling on-site experiences.
  • Own page speed, navigation, search, and the overall usability of the storefront.
  • Reduce friction at every step.
  • Lead our Shopify storefront roadmap, including theme, apps, and integrations.
  • Partner with engineering and agencies as needed.
  • Own e-commerce revenue targets, forecast site performance, and report on the metrics that drive the channel.
  • Work with paid media to align landing experiences to campaigns, with lifecycle to convert and retain, and with brand to keep the storefront on-message.
  • Develop a point of view on assortment, bundling, pricing architecture, and merchandising that maximizes conversion, AOV, and profitability
  • Drive personalization across the storefront using customer behavior, merchandising, and AI to create more relevant shopping experiences
  • AI-first mindset with a track record of identifying, building, and deploying AI solutions (agents, workflows, automations, and copilots) that create competitive advantage and operational efficiency.
