About The Position

This leadership role focuses on shaping the marketing strategy for IMG’s product suite. It is ideal for a strategic marketing leader who can translate insights into action, optimize in-market performance, and influence broader portfolio strategy. The role will drive product flows, strengthen market positioning, and bring a data-informed perspective to key business decisions. The Director will lead the marketing strategy for IMG’s product suite, aligning plans and priorities with business goals and growth opportunities. This includes identifying opportunities to better position funds in-market and across other business segments to support portfolio objectives. The role requires partnering cross-functionally to ensure marketing strategies are informed, measurable, and adaptable to changing business needs and market conditions. Additionally, the Director will help shape the broader business strategy for the product portfolio by connecting data, customer understanding, and market intelligence. The Director will use advanced marketing principles and methodologies to execute on future business or marketing needs driven by quantitative data/research, competitive insights, and/or consumer behaviors. A strong focus on end-to-end customer experience and delivering outstanding customer experiences overall is expected. The role involves leading a team in the development and execution of strategies and plans for sustainable business growth, synthesizing data to identify and innovate business-building solutions, and directing teams responsible for projects and processes within their area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities. Oversight of teams implementing digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development, planning, and execution, is also a key responsibility. The Director will lead creative development, provide feedback on look and feel, and develop strong creative briefs, while monitoring emerging innovative trends in content, design, and marketing tactics. Reviewing and analyzing customer insights, analytics, and tools to understand and forecast market, competitor, and customer needs and behavior is crucial. The role involves defining appropriate target audiences, evaluating sufficiency, and making data-based decisions to achieve results. Ensuring programs are on strategy and on schedule, and holding the team accountable, are essential. Hiring and developing talent, providing consistent coaching and feedback, and administering performance and compensation recommendations are also part of the role. Requirements

  • A strategic marketing leader with experience developing and guiding portfolio-level marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess marketing performance, identify trends, and recommend meaningful adjustments.
  • Experience using competitor insights, audience data, and campaign results to influence business and marketing decisions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute effectively in cross-functional and senior-level conversations.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving growth, improving positioning, and uncovering new opportunities across products and segments.
  • FINRA Series 6 required within 120 days of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field.
  • Typically, 10 or more years of related professional experience in marketing, insurance or related field.
  • Previous management or project leadership experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing methodologies, distribution systems, and customers.
  • Knowledge of project leadership concepts and methodologies.
  • Command of verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to develop and review research studies and communicate research findings, present market recommendations based on findings, develop and negotiate contracts/service agreements with internal/external contacts, lead market planning projects, and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to lead and prioritize projects.
  • Excellent ability to train, lead and mentor associates in all aspects of market planning.
  • Demonstrates excellent proficiency in core marketing competencies, including strategy development, utilization of insights and analytics, building brand equity and developing effective marketing communications.
  • Command of and ability to role model and deliver customer focus, operating capabilities, personal efficiency, strategic capabilities and build talent.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance and/or financial services products strongly preferred.
