About The Position

The Director, Infrastructure & Platform leads the team responsible for creating standard, reliable environments on which Defense & Systems builds, tests, and delivers software. The team owns secure platforms, shared services, and a single golden-path delivery pipeline used by software developers. The role operates the platform as a product rather than as a help desk and is accountable for both the operating model and the people who run it. The Director sets the platform roadmap and service standards, mandates the golden path adopted by product teams, and holds the team to FLIGHT DECK standard work and a bias toward flow. The role aims to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost by replacing ad-hoc environments and duplicated infrastructure work with a governed, consumable platform. The Director leads and develops a multidisciplinary Infrastructure & Platform team, including technical program management, platform and infrastructure engineering, and infrastructure architecture. The role establishes team objectives and standard work, owns performance and development, removes obstacles, and coaches problem-solving at the point of work. The position governs a single golden-path delivery pipeline covering CI/CD, environments, and shared services; operates the platform with a backlog, roadmap, and service standards; and establishes visible processes for platform change. It partners with Cyber Security to incorporate security best practices by default and scopes the DevSecOps capability gap as a Phase 2 headcount request. The Director ensures secure, reliable, scalable infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments in a defense context, establishes the operating rhythm for reliability and delivery, and partners with four product-development software teams. The role represents Infrastructure & Platform in the Tech Ops leadership cadence, aligns the roadmap to the enterprise and CDAIO baseline, and partners with the Director, Architecture & Data to keep platform patterns and architecture guardrails coupled. This is a remote position. The role requires U.S. work authorization and access to U.S. export-controlled information; employment is contingent on proof of qualifying U.S. Person status. The position requires Export Control compliance (ITAR/EAR).
